Application Procedure

You are welcome to apply online from our Registration page. Or, please call the Shakerag office to apply by telephone (931.598.5651 ext. 3165). You may pay by credit card or check (checks should be mailed to Shakerag Workshops at the address given below). If you have already registered, and need to pay the second half of your total via credit card, please go to the Registration page.
Shakerag 2016 fees are as follows:
Tuition for all workshops is $950.

All meals are included as a part of the tuition fee. Day participants who need to have a limited meal plan should contact Claire Reishman.
Housing fees for the week are as follows:
  • Double with Air Conditioning - $250
  • Single with Air Conditioning - $400
Please note that in each residence there is a shared bathroom with three private showers, three private toilets, and a shared sink area; there are no rooms with private baths.

There is a non-refundable $50 application fee due at the time of submitting your application.

For those who own homes in Franklin, Marion, or Grundy County, there is a discounted rate of $850 for tuition and board limited to 10 registrants from these counties.

Upon receipt of your payment, a member of the Shakerag staff will contact you to confirm your space in the workshop and to iron out any details. Those who would like to take two classes at Shakerag are encouraged to register for both sessions. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, a light breakfast is served in the dining hall. On Saturday participants may join Shakerag staff members for lunch, and arrangements can be made to work in the studios throughout the afternoon.Transportation is provided on Saturday evening into Sewanee where participants can choose from several different restaurants for dinner. On Sunday, transportation is provided to the local flea market in the morning and into the Sewanee restaurants for lunch. Studios are open throughout the day, and a Sewanee tour or swim are both available at 4:30 p.m. There is no additional charge for staying through the weekend.

If you must cancel your registration at any time before May 1, all that you have paid will be refunded except the $50 registration fee and a $150 cancellation fee. After May 1, no refunds are given.
