Clay: Shinos in the Fire

Course Description
This workshop will focus on the challenging alchemy of mixing, glazing, and firing carbontrap shinos in a gas kiln. Participants are expected to bring enough bisqueware (24 pieces each) to fire the kiln twice. We will also work in teams to mix a lot of 300 gram test batches of shino-type glazes, so that we can have test tiles from our firings. Shinos are full of magic and mystery, so come prepared for the unexpected!
