A Letter from Head of School Search Chair Eunice Colmore
Head of School Search Chair Eunice Colmore sets out the plan and schedule for SAS's Head of School Search.
To the St Andrews-Sewanee School Community and Friends:
I am pleased to announce that our search for a new Head of School already has great momentum. We have a strong, talented and dedicated Search Committee that is keenly aware of the significant responsibility ahead of us.
Through this important process, the Search Committee will be guided by our experienced search consultants representing Carney Sandoe, the highly regarded national search firm specializing in independent schools. Our committee and the consultants Marguerite Lloyd and Marlene Shaw have already begun working on a broad, thorough and professional search that will result in the best possible choice to lead SAS in to the future
Because our search plan includes an Interim Head for the next school year, 2015-16, the Committee has the time to be especially thoughtful throughout this process. The target date for having finalists visit campus is early fall 2015 with the selection and announcement of the new Head projected for October. The permanent Head of School will begin July 2016.
The search process must honor the candidates' need for confidentiality. This "Head of School Search" webpage will provide regular updates and communicate next steps and dates as they become available. All current and past communication will be posted on the webpage, so we encourage you to check in regularly to stay informed. The members of the Search Committee are available for any comments you would like to share and are willing to answer questions as we are able to within the limits set by the confidentiality to which we are pledged.
Our Search Committee is honored to be representing the various voices in our community as we begin this process. We are grateful for the unique opportunity we have been given to serve our beloved school and we ask your prayers as we move forward with this important work.
Chair, Head of School Search Committee
