An Update from the Search Committee
Eunice Colmore, Chair of the Head of School Search Committee, offers a progress report after the latest meeting of the Search Committee.
To the St Andrews-Sewanee School Community and Friends:
We are making good progress with our Head of School search. The first full meeting of our Search Committee was held in April in conjunction with the Spring Board of Trustees meeting. We met again on June 7 to begin reviewing and assessing the strong pool of candidates our consultants have worked diligently to bring to us.
The Search Committee will be communicating throughout the summer as we screen candidates prior to skype interviews to be followed by personal interviews in late summer with a group of semi-finalists - all highly confidential. We hope to name three finalists in September and we will have them visit SAS during the month together with spouses. We expect to present our recommendation for the new Head of School to the Board in October.
Since being named in early April, our Interim Head of School, Judy Chamberlain, has made several visits to the school. She has been meeting with internal and external administrators, has held forums for faculty and members of the broader community, and most recently attended Alumni Weekend. We are very fortunate to have in Judy an experienced, capable and energetic leader of great warmth. Officially moving to SAS and assuming her duties on July 1, she has said she plans "to keep the trains running on time" while we conduct our search for the next Head of School with intention and careful deliberation.
Please continue to remember the Search Committee and our important mission in your prayers.
Chair, Head of School Search Committee
