Each year, St. Andrew's-Sewanee School holds an International Flag Day to give international students an opportunity to present their nations' flags to the school for display in the James Agee Memorial library. On October 22, representatives of our international community offered their flags to the Rev. John Thomas, Head of School.
Countries represented included: China, Cuba, Germany, Jamaica, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Forty international students attend SAS. They constitute 16% of the school's population.
The students entered St. Andrew's Chapel to the strains of their country's national anthem, spoke a few words about their home, and then presented their flags to the Fr. Thomas.
