Session 1: Knitting Getaway Registration
Upon notification of your acceptance to Session 1, please click here to fill out the registration form for Session 1. You may pay by credit card or check (checks should be mailed to Shakerag Workshops at the address given below).
Tuition + Fees - Session 1 - Knitting Getaway
The all-inclusive fees for registration, tuition, meals, and housing for Knitting Getaway 2019 are as follows:
Off campus living: $750
On campus double room housing: $800
On campus single room housing: $900
Tuition + Fees - Session 2 + 3 -
Tuition for all 2019 week-long workshops is $1050. All meals are included as part of the tuition fee. Day participants who need to have a limited meal plan should contact Claire Reishman.
Double with Air Conditioning - $200
Single with Air Conditioning - $350
Please note that in each residence there is a shared bathroom with three private showers, three private toilets, and a shared sink area; there are no rooms with private baths.
There is a non-refundable $50 registration fee due at the time of submitting your application.
Local Participant Tuition
For those who own homes in Franklin, Marion, and Grundy County, there is a discounted rate of $950 for tuition and board granted on a space-available basis.
Each class will have a separate lab fee, with the total ranging between $0-$100 unless otherwise noted. Actual lab fees will be determined once enrollment in the class has been closed.
Application Procedure for Session 1: Knitting Getaway with Mason-Dixon Knitters:
Participation in the Knitting Getaway weekend will be limited to 100 registrants. The application for the Knitting Getaway will open on August 15, 2019 and close on August 22, 2019. After August 22, if we have more than 100 applicants, we will select 100 participants by lottery, and the remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Participants will be notified of their status early the week of August 27. For those whose application is accepted, 50% of your fee is due before September 15. The remaining 50% is due before March 1.
Upon receipt of your registration and payment, a member of the Shakerag staff will contact you to confirm your space in the workshop and to iron out any details. Those who would like to take two or more classes at Shakerag are encouraged to register for any of the three sessions. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, a light breakfast is served in the dining hall. On Saturday participants may join Shakerag staff members for lunch. Transportation is provided on Saturday evening into Sewanee where participants can choose from several different restaurants for dinner. On Sunday, transportation is provided to the local flea market in the morning and into the Sewanee restaurants for lunch. Studios are open throughout the day, and a Sewanee tour or swim are both available at 4:30 p.m. There is no additional charge for staying through the weekend.

Cancellation Policy for Session 1
Once you have registered, if you must cancel before November 1, the cancellation fee is $50; all other monies will be refunded. Between November 2 and March 1, the cancellation fee is $100; between March 1 and May 1, the cancellation fee is $150. After May 1, no fees are refunded.
Cancellation Policy for Sessions 2 + 3
If you must cancel your registration at any time before May 1, all that you have paid will be refunded except the $50 registration fee and a $150 cancellation fee. After May 1, no refunds are given.
