MENDING
WITH KATRINA PERDUE

Course Description

In this hands-on workshop, we will build upon traditional mending and darning
techniques to examine the creative potential in a modern approach to textile repair. By
using a combination of hand stitching skills, we will discuss practical solutions for
revitalizing worn fibers while exploring exciting opportunities for surface design. We will
discuss the context of mending today as an act of slowing down, as a way of preserving
sentimental items, and as a practice of sustainability.
