BOOK ARTS
WITH CLAUDIA LEE
Join Claudia Lee in exploring a wide range of surface design techniques on paper.
Course Description
This class will explore a wide range of surface design techniques to create papers that express each student's personal artistic voice. We will be working with wax resist, Japanese paste, inks, gel prints, collaging and hand stitching. Our work may take the form of artist’s books, boxes, flat and sculptural pieces. Students will be encouraged to explore in the direction that the work takes them. We will be photographing and documenting our work in a studio journal as we go through the week so that each student goes home with everything they need to continue to develop their personal aesthetic and body of work. This workshop is open to all levels of experience or none at all!
