Copper Blossoms: Cold Connections, Color on Metal, & the Wearable Flower Form
Learn to transform flat, light gauge, copper shapes into wearable three-dimensional, colored floral forms. We will explore shape and form using mallets, wooden stakes, pliers, and our hands. You will learn to bend, forge, drill, saw, anneal, dome, and micro-bolt cold connections, pop-up settings, and decorative findings. Using a variety of surface applications and an assortment of acrylic paints, brushing techniques, Prisma-color pencils, and metallic paints you will add color, vibrancy, and life to your wearable flower forms. By the end of the workshop you will have gained confidence in both forming and color theory and be ready to create dynamic 3-D forms from flat sheets of metal. Will your flowers be faithful or fanciful? It’s up to you! This workshop is open to all levels, beginner to experienced.
